Sean Munsanje

sean

In the summer of 2009, Sean beat off stiff competition from thousands of hopefuls to become one of the 20 contestants in ‘Total Xposure' - the reality series looking for the next Xposé presenter.

Following weeks of grueling tasks, the public voted Sean as the winner and he became the newest (and first male) member of the hugely popular entertainment show.

Sean Munsanje grew up in Dublin and Clare in the West of Ireland. He originally went to college in Waterford I.T and studied Computer Science.

After finishing his course and working in the I.T field he realised it wasn’t for him and pursued a career in songwriting and media. While studying a Media Studies and Anthropology degree in NUI Maynooth he signed a publishing deal with a Dublin record label and wrote many songs for artists on the label including two Irish top ten hits for Shelly Smith. His songs were performed in January 2009 when Shelly supported Chris Brown at The O2 in Dublin.

While songwriting, Sean decided TV and Radio were the fields he always wanted to work in so started sending his showreel around Dublin. After screentesting in RTE his love and passion for music got him the role presenting ‘The Gig Guide’ on TTV on RTE TWO. This was a weekly guide going through what’s on eventwise throughout the country and all the best gigs of the week to go to.

During his degree Sean worked for Today FM. He also worked on Spin1038’s shows ‘We Love Movies’ and ‘Plan B’ as a film and music contributor respectively.
Two months after Sean completed his degree he used his vast movie knowledge to land himself the position of Movie Correspondent for FM104. He reviews all the latest movies and interviews all the biggest stars of Hollywood for ‘The Juice’ which is aired every Sunday from 10am to 12pm.

Keeping his love of movies in his work Sean became one of the new television presenters and producers on ‘Take Six’ in January 2008. Take Six was a weekly movie review programme on Channel 6. In it Sean reviews the biggest movies of the week and interviews

A list actors like Meryl Streep, Halle Berry and Robert Downey Jr., and directors like his teenage hero Quentin Tarantino.

Sean can currently be seen on Ireland AM on Monday mornings as their X Factor commentator and expert.
