TEN THINGS YOU MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT SEX
By Anne Sexton
1. Sex may be the ultimate cure for stress
New research shows that people who have penetrative sex have better stress responses. Strangely enough, the least stressed people abstained from masturbation and oral sex.
2. Opposites don’t attract
Couples with similar personalities are more likely to be happy.
3. On in 30 seconds
According to a new study, both men and women get turned on within 30 seconds of watching porn.
4. Don’t answer the call!
Oh dear… 30 percent of men and 43 percent of women say they'd consider picking up a ringing phone during sex.
5. Half of all men have faked an orgasm
Cynthia W Gentry, co-author of What Men Really Want In Bed found that 52 percent of the men she surveyed admitted to having faked an orgasm.
6. Your sex drive may be genetic
Researchers have found that genes are linked to differences in desire. Scary to think that if you have a strong sex drive, Mammy and Daddy, may have too.
7. Sleep sex is real
Around five percent of adults exhibit sexual behaviour in their sleep – anything from masturbation to intercourse and the person often has no recollection of it.
8. On the sofa
Anyone thinking of tying the knot should invest in a comfortable sofa. About 12 percent of married people typically sleep alone.
9. ED is common
Erectile dysfunction is fairly common in older men. Between 15 to 25 percent of 65-year-old men experience it at some point, while approximately 5 percent of 40-year-old men have erectile difficulties.
10. HPV is even more common
Here’s a rather scary statistic – at least 50 percent of sexually active men and women will contract a genital human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Low-risk HPV causes genital warts while and high-risk HPV can cause cervical and other cancers. The good news: 90 percent of the time, the body’s immune system fights off the disease within two years.
