At a time where online shopping is soaring (an estimated €2.96 billion was spent online in Ireland during 2010 according to research released by Visa Europe at the time – a jump of 39% over the previous 2009) www.jenniferwrynne.com
The website showcases the new collection as well as past pieces designed by the milliner. Customers can also avail of exclusive bespoke hats designed especially for them.
A former graduate from the Grafton Academy Jennifer says, "Irish people love hats but she is constantly being told that they can't find one that suits them. When designing a bespoke headpiece I consider elements such as shape of face, skin colouring and hairstyle to design the perfect piece. The wearer's personality and style must be reflected. Often clients come to me with a particular outfit for which they would like a headpiece to complement. I use only the best silks, velvets, satins and lace with hand detailed pearls, silk flowers, feathers and Swarovski crystals and pride myself on attention to detail. I believe trimmings such as these are most successful when used lightly as though they have just fallen effortlessly into place.”
Jennifer says “My inspiration comes from nature – from animals and flowers to fallen leaves. In my new collection ‘All Things That Fly’ I wanted to portray my love for this in a totally different way when it comes to millinery. I wanted to add something eye-catching, bright and colourful and something that would really turn heads. It is a unique and imaginative collection with lots of birds, butterflies and flowers.”
All pieces range between €75 - €350
Notes to editor:
Jennifer Wrynne from Co. Leitrim moved to Dublin in 2008 to work as a Visual Merchandiser for a well known high end designer store. During this time she also studied Dress Design at the Grafton Academy. Jennifer always had a flair for fashion and her creative talent was evident from a very young age. She learned to sew in her mother's design studio 'Mary Wrynne Interiors'.
After attending many of the Irish Racing Festivals, Jennifer passion for hats grew. In February 2011 she took one-on-one millinery classes. Her creativity was unleashed and she began creating head pieces using some of her favourite materials: silks, velvets, pearls, ornate flowers and vibrant, colourful feathers. Each piece is made entirely by hand to a high standard with huge attention to detail. Along with her ready-to-wear collection Jennifer also creates bespoke head-pieces to order.
